Rwanda trip for Canadian students for genocide education
Canadian students in Rwanda for genocide education

Who We Are

SHOUT Canada is a non-profit organization based in Canada and run by volunteers.

Our flagship education program, Reflections on Rwanda, offers a unique opportunity for Canadian students and young professionals to engage in a profound experience of genocide education and remembrance in Rwanda.

Over the past decade, our delegations to Rwanda have played a vital role in introducing activists to the rich history, culture, and traditions of Rwanda while addressing the sombre reality of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. Armed with the stories of survivors, our delegates return to their communities around the globe to raise awareness about the genocide and its enduring impact.

With a commitment to fostering understanding, empathy, and meaningful connections, SHOUT Canada remains dedicated to making a lasting impact in the fight against genocide and promoting peace and reconciliation worldwide.

Genocide education for Canadian students in Rwanda

Our Mission

Reflections on Rwanda is not just a program; it's a powerful movement designed to ignite a sense of action, advocacy, and empowerment among students and young professionals.

Our primary goal is to serve as a catalyst, propelling participants toward meaningful engagement with social justice issues. We equip them with the necessary tools and inspiration to drive impactful change, not only within their local communities and campuses in Canada but also on a global scale.

The impact of this movement extends beyond the borders of Rwanda itself. It starts with the simple act of sharing knowledge gained from the trip, leading to compelling presentations and profound discussions about the genocide and its implications.

Through these small yet significant steps, we aim to create a ripple effect, nurturing a generation of socially conscious individuals who actively strive for a more compassionate and just world.
